Visit a treasure from the XIII & XIV centuries

This church, built in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, will delight visitors with its exterior architecture: West and South portals made in lace stone, fantastic gargoyles, mysterious statues... antique interior embellishments with stained glass, amazing furniture... polychrome statues. Jewel of Gothic art, the Recevresse for receiving the offerings of pilgrims, is a unique monument. Most importantly, you can marvel at the presence of the statue of the Virgin whose miraculous apparition was behind the construction of the basilica, and which was assigned for many miracles.

Important pilgrimage site, 2 km from Belgium, not far from the abbey of Orval, the Basilica of Avioth is a must when visiting the area. Previously owned by Luxembourg, the building has long been considered the most beautiful church in Luxembourg. Young and old visitors will be enchanted by the events organized annually by the village Avioth, in addition to many concerts. You will discover the "Artistiques" every fourth Sunday of July, which host of talented artisans showing their skills there. Come experience the magic of Christmas as the second weekend of December with the Christmas Village. It gathers in front of the Basilica a miniature forest that pushed some chalets and stalls offering local food in this lovely period of celebration.
